The second annual art show sponsored by
Start Strong Wichita
A Violence Prevention Project of Catholic Charities
Focused On Healthy Teen Relationships in our Digital Age
It's ONE NIGHT ONLY, and will be the ONLY show
featuring ALL of the following:
Over 200 pieces of visual art from Middle and High School artists
Some visual art from local professional artists
Special lighting
A small theatre and three performing troupes
Poetry and spoken word on three soap box stages, one of which is also a photo booth
Dance and music performance -- including original music
T-shirt sales
Finger foods, coffee, hot chocolate, and more -- including treats from the Riverside Perk
Media coverage, and
A short speech by Mayor Carl Brewer!
Now you KNOW you want to come!
6:00 PM to 10:00 PM @ the Shopkeeper's Gallery, 228 North Market

The 2nd Annual 'What's Luv Got to Do Wit' It?' is bound to be a huge community success! Last year, over 14 Wichita Public Schools displayed over 180 different pieces. Hundreds of Wichita Patrons came to see how students felt about healthy relationships. Wichita Mayor, Carl Brewer, culminated the event by giving a proclamation declaring February as Teen Dating Violence Prevention and Awareness Month.
This year's event is going to be even bigger. Students will submit Art of any medium (Paintings, Sketches, Sculptures, Theatre, Music, Poetry, Human Statues, Photography, Video & more) to their school's Choose RESPECT Sponsor by January 30th. From Jan. 31-Feb. 11th the Art will be displayed in each school, and then 3-10 pieces from each location will be selected to be included in the City Wide Exhibit being featured for FINAL FRIDAY Feb. 25th at The Shopkeeper's Gallery (232 N. Market.)
